The Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) has the promise to work so hard to reach maturity and is also ready to challenge for sport at the 2024-Olympics which will be taking place in Paris.
Chairman of the caretaker committee in charge of the handball federation of Nigeria, Sam Ocheo, stated in his speech that the federation will continue to work on her youths and age-grade development programme who have been promising with the hope that the team will be elevated.
Also be ready to challenge for sports at the 2024 Olympics in Paris after missing out with regret at the oncoming Tokyo Olympics.
The 2024 Paris Olympics has three major games it intends to feature, which include skateboarding, sport climbing, and break dancing.
For the first time in the history of the Paris game, they will be adding breakdance.
It was stated clearly that there are certain games which will not be included such as the softball, and karate game.
It was noted that the game will help to inspire millions of children to take up the sport.
On the effect of the importance of this game, Ocheo in a chat emphasized that the federation will not give up on talent development.
He continues by saying that they will focus on talents development and do everything within their leach to position the sports of handball.
In Ocheo words, “We are looking at it and we will keep doing what we are meant to do which is developing the talents"
He continues by saying that “If I am still in office after the next election by 2025, I will be thinking of packing my bags but whoever will be there should continue to develop the game of handball in the country" and who knows by 2025 we might just be a candidate for the Olympics.
